Due to high temperatures this week, we have activated the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) commencing 22 June 2026. This is activated when the temperature is forecast to exceed 30 degrees. It may also be triggered by other severe weather conditions that could pose significant health risks.

We are committed to making sure people in the community have access to  hydration and support, particularly in periods of hot weather, while continuing to work towards longer-term solutions.

Our Outreach Team and Turning Tides St Clare’s Community Hub offer additional support and welfare checks along with support to access services during hot weather. We'll be out delivering bottles of water and performing welfare checks while St Clare’s, in addition to its usual hours, will be open between 12-1.30pm as a designated cool space.

We will proactively contact those known to sleep rough. You can also let us know about those sleeping rough in the district and borough, through Streetlink reporting tool
