This does not apply to customers who had previously registered for Worthing Self Service prior to 1st October 2017.

Sign up to view your existing Council Tax account online

As a Council Tax payer, you can register to see details about your account, including: charges; discounts and exemptions that have been granted; payments that have been made (excluding today); and the account balance.

What information will I need to know before I sign up?

The details required by customers when registering for Self Service are as described below.

In each instance you will need to achieve a score of at least 10 based on any combination of details listed (with the score for each one in brackets):

  • Bank account number that's used to pay by Direct Debt (8)
  • National Insurance Number (6)
  • Benefit claim number (5)
  • Date in the month that your Council Tax instalment is due (4)
  • Amount of the last Council Tax payment (4)
  • Surname (1)
  • Date of birth (1)
  • Postcode (1)
  • Phone number (1)
  • Email address used for e-billing (0)

How to sign up and register to use the service

In order to use Self Service you must be an Adur or Worthing resident and register with us first and then:

  • You will then be sent an email containing a link to verify your account
  • You can then register for one or more service either by:
    • Confirming the answers to some security questions based on information that we hold about you but you will only need to do this once; or
    • If you are unable to answer the questions you can request a PIN and this will be posted to you. You will need to wait until you receive your PIN but you will only need to enter it the first time you log into Self Service
  • You will need to answer different security questions or enter a different PIN for each service (Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefits or Landlord) that you request

Adur Residents: Please note that this is a new service for Adur residents. This means that if you previously had an Adur Self Service account (before October 2017), your old logon details will not be recognised and you will need to register a new account.

After you have successfully answered the security questions or entered your PIN for the first time, you will only need your username and password to log into Self Service.
