Housing Strategy

Adur & Worthing Councils are expected to produce a five year Housing Strategy covering how the Councils intend to deal with housing issues.

Adur & Worthing Housing Strategy 2020 to 2023

The Adur & Worthing Housing Strategy has been developed jointly by the Adur District and Worthing Borough Councils.

The strategy sets out the Councils' housing priorities for the next three years and builds on the commitments in Platforms for our Places: Going Further 2020-2022, which sets out the Councils' role in developing places and communities. The Strategy objectives reflect the Councils' corporate priorities, other Council strategies and the strategies and priorities of other partners and stakeholders.

Adur & Worthing Housing Strategy 2017 to 2020

The Adur & Worthing Housing Strategy is jointly between the Adur District and Worthing Borough Councils.

The strategy sets out the Councils' housing priorities for the next five years and dovetails with the Councils' corporate priorities, other Council strategies and the strategies and priorities of other partners and stakeholders. The Housing Strategy will be reviewed and updated annually.

The new joint strategy replaces the previous individual strategies.

Adur Council's current Housing Strategy 2005-10 was first published in 2005 and updated in 2009 after a period of review through the Housing Strategy Review Forum.

Worthing Housing Strategy 2005 to 2010

Worthing Council's Housing Strategy for 2005 to 2010

Worthing Council's Housing Strategy for 2005 to 2010 provides detailed objectives for the way in which the Council plans to meet the housing needs of the Borough. The strategic Housing and Planning Group has a key role in helping to deliver many of the targets set out in the Strategy, such as meeting affordable and Key Worker housing.

2006 Worthing Housing Strategy Update

A commitment was made within the Strategy to produce an annual update, reporting on progress being made and ensuring targets are kept under review in the light of changing circumstances and feedback from stakeholders. The 2006 Update retains a commitment to the key priorities set out within the overarching Housing Strategy but reflects on new issues which have arisen in the last year. The document reports on achievements and progress in implementing the Housing Strategy and in meeting targets over the last year.
