Adur District Council prepared the Revised Draft Adur Local Plan 2013 for consultation in accordance with Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. This can be viewed below:

Part 1 - includes Front cover, Introduction, context and Vision and Objectives

Part 2 - includes key strategic allocations

Part 3 - includes policies for specific parts of Adur – Lancing, Sompting, Shoreham-by-Sea, Southwick and Fishersgate, and Adur’s countryside and coast.

Part 4 - Development Management policies

Appendices - includes Glossary, proposed amendments to the Built-Up Area and Local Green Gap boundaries, and delivery and monitoring information.

Further information

A Background Evidence Document was prepared which gives some context to the policies and proposals in the Revised Draft Adur Local Plan 2013.

A Sustainability Appraisal (incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment) of the Revised Draft Adur Local Plan 2013 was prepared in accordance with Section 39(2) of the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. This document aims to ensure the Revised Draft Adur Local Plan 2013 takes account of environmental, social and economic issues. Consultation on this document ran from 26th September to 7th November as per the Revised Draft Local Plan (representations were accepted for two weeks after this date).

A Draft Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) was prepared.

A Sequential Test and Exception Test of sites included in the Revised Draft Adur Local Plan 2013 was prepared in accordance with Part 10 of the National Planning Policy Framework 2012. The aim of this document is to ensure a risk-based approach to the location of development to avoid, where possible, flood risk to people and property.
