Joss Loader has lived in Shoreham for much of her life and raised her son and daughter locally. This is her second term of office as Adur DC's Vice Chair.
Joss represents Shoreham Beach on Adur District Council, as an elected Independent councillor. She is also the Adur Chair of the Councils' Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Joss was Chairman of Adur DC during 2018/19 and ran a highly-successful public defibrillator appeal, working with community groups, businesses and individuals to install 16 life-saving machines across the towns and villages of Adur.
A qualified journalist, she currently works as a freelance writer and PR consultant. She also teaches English as a Foreign Language.
Previous roles include working as Assistant Editor at the Worthing Herald Series; as a Communications Manager for the former West Sussex Primary Care Trust (NHS) and as PR manager for Shoreham Power Station, during its construction.
Joss is currently Chair of Shoreham Beach Residents' Association and is a Trustee for both the Shoreham & Adur Foodbank and the Worthing Cat Welfare Trust. She is also an academy councillor (governor) at the Sir Robert Woodard Academy.
Joss lives with her three cats on Shoreham Beach. In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, walking and sea swimming.
