Field Place has been awarded the coveted 'Green Flag Status' from Keep Britain Tidy, who manage the scheme on behalf of The Department for Communities and Local Government. The Green Flag scheme is the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces in the UK. It was first launched in 1996 to recognise and reward the best green spaces in the country.
Field Place was judged against eight key criteria in order to be awarded the accolade:
- A welcoming place
- Healthy, safe and secure
- Clean and well maintained
- Conservation and heritage
- Community involvement
Field Place is a fine example of an 18th Century English Country House and has a unique atmosphere of tranquillity which has been created by generations of local well known families.
Steeped in history and situated in eight acres of pleasant grounds, Field Place is an ideal location for Weddings, Conference Parties or Meetings.
Field Place offers many sporting opportunities, indoors and outdoors. The site has:
- one high quality bowling green
- four petanque pistes and one croquet green
- six tennis courts
- short mat bowls
- play area

Goring Manor Bowls Club is formed from the merger of West Tarring Bowls Club and Field Place Bowls Club. They are now the mixed lawn bowls club playing at Field Place. Block bookings for bowling greens and bookings during the bowling season, April to October, can be booked by contacting South Down Leisure Centre, please see:
The bowling season runs from April to October each year.
