Licensing: EU Transition / Brexit - EU Migration Scheme

As most of you will be aware the Brexit transition period ends this year on 31st December 2020. New rules take effect on 1st January 2021.

This means that from 1st January 2021, the UK will have a new points-based immigration system that will impact how we are able to grant licenses. We advise you to prepare now and subscribe to email updates from the Central Government about any additional arrangements.

If you are an EU citizen you must apply to the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS), before 30th June 2021, if you want to continue living and working in the UK.

Adur & Worthing Councils value all our licence holders and their staff and we want our EU workers to remain working.

Please act now. It's free to apply and the scheme protects the rights of EU citizens, including access to healthcare, benefits and pensions.

For more information covering a range of topics, including where to get help with the EU Settlement Scheme, see our:

If you have any concerns or questions about how Brexit will impact your licence with Adur & Worthing Councils, please email the licensing unit at licensing.unit@adur-worthing.gov.uk or if you are a taxi driver, proprietor or private hire operator the taxi licensing team at taxi.licensing@adur-worthing.gov.uk

As the transition date is fast approaching, please don't delay and act NOW.
