Homefield Park playground improvements
Homefield Park improvements
Improvements to the playground area of Homefield Park will be starting in 2025. This includes reshaping the area of the playground and replacing the play equipment. Worthing Borough Council is funding these improvements with a budget of £220,000.
For stage two of the project we plan to transform the lower section, which is often subject to flooding, into a planted area with sustainable drainage to take advantage of the natural rainwater capture in this area, as well as providing attractive planting and increased biodiversity.
What will the new playground look like?
The new playground is designed for fun, adventure, and inclusion. Children of all ages and abilities can enjoy a variety of activities - from climbing walls and rope bridges to jump pads and balance beams. The layout encourages exploration, active play, and social connection, while safe, accessible surfacing ensures comfort and security for all.
Over 700 people voted online or face-to-face to choose which playground was preferred and the majority chose 'Design B'.
