Homefield Park playground consultation 2024
Homefield Park improvements
Improvements to the playground area of Homefield Park will be starting in 2025. This includes reshaping the area of the playground and replacing the play equipment. Worthing Borough Council is proposing to fund these improvements with a budget of £220,000.
Further improvements to the park in the future will include new planting and using a sustainable drainage system.
The playground
The first stage of the works is to the playground, which will be reshaped to help with surface water and flooding issues that occur on a regular basis. The playground will remain the same size but will stretch further into the park.
For stage two of the project we plan to transform the lower section, which is often subject to flooding, into a planted area with sustainable drainage to take advantage of the rainwater capture in this area as well as providing attractive planting and increased biodiversity.
A plan of the new playground area will be available to view soon.
Playground consultation
We're asking residents to help us with the design of the playground and the equipment that should be included.
We'll also be at the playground on the following dates, so please come and talk to us:
- Tuesday 27th August, 10am to 12pm
- Saturday 7th September, 10am to 12pm
- Thursday 12th September, 2pm to 4pm
You can complete this online consultation with your thoughts by 30th September 2024.
After the consultation has closed, all the feedback will be carefully considered to help shape the future of play provision in Homefield Park. Once we have designs for the playground, we'll update this page and ask for further feedback. We anticipate this will be early 2025.
