(Application Ref: AWDM/1264/20; Appeal Ref: APP/M3835/W/21/3281813) (Chatsmore Farm)

Following Worthing Borough Council's successful legal challenge against the Planning Inspectorate's decision to allow hundreds of home to be built at Chatsmore Farm, the original decision has been quashed and the appeal will be re-determined at a Public Inquiry in the Gordon Room at Worthing Town Hall.

The Public Inquiry is set for:

  • 17th & 18th September 2024
  • 24th to 26th September 2024
  • and 1st to 3rd October 2024

Since the consideration of the previous appeal in 2022, the new Worthing Local Plan has been adopted. The Inspector for the Inquiry into the Local Plan indicated to the council that it was right to protect the site from development in the plan.
