Building Control fees

This section outlines the fees which are payable for our building control services. The fees are derived from regulations laid down before Parliament and are administered by the council.

Before you submit your Building Regulations Application please download a copy of the Building Control Fees and Explanatory Notes and calculate the fee payable for your proposed work.

The charge for projects, not included in the building control standard fee tables, will be individually determined by the amount of plan checking and inspection time we require.

VAT is payable on all fees except regularisation fees.

Domestic Building control charges:

• Building Control fees and charges for domestic dwellings - from 1st April 2024 (259KB)

Non-domestic and new dwellings - from 1st April 2024:

• These are based on our charge out rate of £82.50 an hour

Research fees:

• To research and provide copies of Building Control Approval Notices or Completion certificates - £15 (including VAT) each

Building Safety Regulator:

• To provide assistance to the Building Safety Regulator as required - £72.11 per hour
