The consultation ran from the 19th September to the 31st October 2012.

A Sustainability Appraisal (incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment) of the Draft Adur Local Plan 2012 has been prepared in accordance with Section 39(2) of the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. This document aims to ensure the Draft Adur Local Plan takes account of environmental, social and economic issues. Consultation on this document runs from 19 September to 31 October as per the Draft Local Plan.

A Sequential Test and Exception Test of sites included in the Draft Adur Local Plan has been prepared in accordance with Part 10 of the National Planning Policy Framework 2012. The aim of this document is to ensure a risk-based approach to the location of development to avoid, where possible, flood risk to people and property.

A Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) of the Draft Adur Local Plan has been prepared under Article 6 of the EC Habitats Directive 1992 and Regulation 48 of the Conservation (Natural Habitats) Regulations 1994 (as amended in 2007). The aim of this document is to ascertain whether an ‘Appropriate Assessment’ is required to understand the impact of the Draft Adur Local Plan on any European Protected Site of ecological importance.
