Volunteer community facilitators
We're looking to recruit local residents as volunteer community facilitators to help us create a shared vision and set of priorities for our neighbourhoods in Adur and Worthing. Could that be you?
This role forms part of Thriving Together - our participation programme for devolution and local government reorganisation that will help shape the future of the places we call home by ensuring that communities have a voice.
We're hoping to hear from people who can:
- Follow guidance, but adapt it to their style
- Listen
- Record information
- Be impartial
- Gather people on their estate, in their street, in a park or at the beach
- Spare five days between May and the end of September 2025
In exchange for this commitment, you will receive full training in facilitation and deliberation, which will look great on your CV.
This is a voluntary role, but limited funding may be available to compensate for your time.
We're looking for people in: Lancing, Shoreham, Sompting, Southwick, Fishersgate, Findon Valley, East Worthing, Worthing, Broadwater, Durrington, Goring, Maybridge, Offington, Salvington, Heene, West Worthing and Tarring.
We have some funded places, which we have initially identified for young people. If your involvement relies on payment, let us know.
How to apply:
The first in-person training date will be Thursday 22nd May 2025.
If you can make the training date and are interested, please email Jody Aked at Ideas Alliance with your name, telephone number and the name of the place where you live:
We will then give you a call to follow up.
If we get lots of interest, we will use the 'first come, first served' rule. So please drop us a line today.
