New Mayor of Worthing elected

The new Mayor of Worthing is Councillor Lysanne Skinner.
Cllr Skinner, who represents Tarring Ward on Worthing Borough Council, has been the Deputy Mayor of Worthing for the last 12 months.
Last night at the council's annual meeting she was voted in as Mayor of Worthing for 2026/27.
Cllr Skinner said:
“I'm extremely honoured to be serving as Mayor of Worthing for the next year. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of members of our community and discovering more about our wonderful town with the support of my husband and children.”
During her mayoral year, Cllr Skinner will celebrate groups and events across Worthing on social media, using the hashtag:
#themayorwiththepinkhair
This year the mayor's charities will be local inclusive cycling project Cycall, Worthing Cat Welfare Trust, and Reaching Families, which aims to support the parents and families of children and young people with special educational needs.
Cllr Henna Chowdhury, who represents Gaisford Ward, was voted in as Deputy Mayor of Worthing for 2026/27 at the annual meeting.
