Worthing's new multi-arts festival is almost here

Released: Tuesday, 06 June 2023

There's less than a week to go until a new nine-day celebration of the area's arts and culture gets underway in Worthing.

The Worthing Festival is almost here and is set to bring an abundance of events - including music, dance, art, heritage, workshops and more - to our seaside town.

Running from 10th to 18th June 2023, the festival will take place in venues and open spaces across the town with over 130 events listed so far.

The celebration was inspired by community conversations asking for more visibility for Worthing's wealth of cultural talent, and has been brought to life thanks to a huge effort from the town's venues, arts organisations, talented individuals and Worthing Borough Council.

Created by the Council's official place brand, Time for Worthing, it's hoped that following on from this year's debut festival, the concept can be owned, developed and delivered by the community.

Some tickets remain available for a host of exciting performances, interesting talks, comedy nights, fun workshops and family events. Visit the Time for Worthing website to see what's on during the festival.

Cllr Rita Garner, Worthing's Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, said:

“After so much hard work from everyone involved, it's exciting that the festival is now only a matter of days away.

“There is so much talent in and around Worthing that deserves to be put on show and enjoyed by the public. We really hope the festival can be a springboard for our local creatives and do the whole town proud.

“I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped to bring this concept to life. We can't wait for the celebration to get underway on Saturday.”
