Flying flags at council buildings

Adur & Worthing Councils follow UK government's guidance for flying flags at our council buildings, including designated days when the Union Flag must be flown on UK government buildings:

Adur District Council flag:

  • The Adur District Council flag will be flown on The Shoreham Centre for:
    • Meetings of Full Council
    • Sussex Day, 16th June 
  • It will be flown at half mast for:
    • Death of a former Chair
    • Death of a member of the council
    • A member of council staff who has died whilst carrying out the duties of his/her employment

Worthing Borough Council flag:

  • The Worthing Borough Council flag will be flown on the Worthing Town Hall for:
    • Meetings of Full Council
  • It will be flown at half mast for:
    • Death of a Mayor, Past Mayor, or Honorary Alderman
    • Death of a member of the council
    • A member of council staff who has died whilst carrying out the duties of his/her employment
