By reason of its large size and unsympathetic design the rear dormer constitutes a visually dominant, discordant and intrusive form of development that is poorly related to the scale and appearance of the existing bungalow and detracts from the character and amenity of the surrounding area. The proposal is therefore contrary to saved policy AH7 of the Adur District Local Plan and the NPPF. |

Statement of the Requirements of the Notice
|
1. Alter the rear box dormer by reducing the depth of that dormer by 700mm, as shown for illustrative purposes only on the plan attached marked Appendix 2, and remove any materials resulting from compliance with this step from the land.
2. After the rear box dormer has been reduced in depth by 700mm in compliance with paragraph 5.1 of this Notice, install a Juliette balcony across the French doors of the rear dormer. |
