2018-19 - Chairman of Adur District Council - Cllr Joss Loader

The Chairman of Adur District Council is Councillor Joss Loader.

Joss Loader is the Independent councillor for Shoreham Beach (Marine ward) and Chair of Shoreham Beach Residents' Association (SBRA).

She edits SBRA's 40-page magazine 'Beach News', which is delivered to all residents on the Beach.

Professionally, Joss is a fully qualified journalist, who worked for a variety of regional titles, including the Evening Argus and as news editor for the Shoreham and Worthing Heralds. She currently works as a freelance journalist and PR consultant, and also teaches English as a Foreign Language.

Joss, who lives on Shoreham Beach with her son and Archie the dog, has a passion for effective communication and is a firm advocate of robust and meaningful community engagement.

She has held Communications' senior management roles for a number organisations, including local government, the NHS, charities, a national museum and Shoreham Power Station during its construction.

She is also a former governor of Shoreham Beach Primary School and Fishersgate First School - helping to lead the campaign which saved the latter from closure.
