SustainableAW: Energy Making energy clean, smart, secure and affordable
What we’re doing in Adur and Worthing to help make energy clean, smart, secure and affordable:
Solar
Investment in solar technology is a critical part of our plan to reduce our carbon emissions by a third, and become carbon neutral by 2030.
Our programme of action includes plans to install solar energy panels on council buildings, solar carports and the investigation and potential delivery of a local solar farm. We are also investigating the purchase of a large scale solar farm outside of Adur and Worthing to contribute to our carbon neutral drive.

We also use Solar Together, a group buying scheme designed to help homeowners generate their own renewable energy, save money on their electricity bills and cut their carbon emissions. For more information and to register your interest please see:
Heat network
The Councils are looking into introducing measures which would decarbonise heat in council buildings and across Worthing, with the help of government funding awarded by the Heat Network Delivery Unit, the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and the Low Carbon Skills Fund.
