How to donate a seat in the Worthing area

Memorials 200 x 150

If you would like to donate a seat in memory of a loved one in the Worthing area you will need to write, email or telephone in the first instance, to the Parks and Foreshore Administration Team stating where you would like the seat to be installed and giving your name and address.

Worthing Borough Council can provide a memorial seat complete with plaque on Council owned land. In order to maintain continuity throughout our parks and open spaces, the Council restricts the type of bench it uses according to each site.

Our Administration Team will then write to you sending an application form for your chosen site. The application form will have a picture showing the type of seat permitted at the site you have chosen.

If you decide to proceed, you will need to complete the application form, stating the inscription you would like on the plaque (maximum of 15 words).

The application form is then returned to Commerce Way along with a deposit for £250 in the form of a cheque made payable to 'Worthing Borough Council'.

The process takes approximately 3 months to complete.
