Brooklands Par 3 Golf Course

Please note: August 2017 update: The Rampion wind farm project has completed the cable laying phase across the Par 3 course and the reinstatement works by a Golf Course specialist contractor is yet to commence the works to ensure the very high quality tees and greens are returned to their former quality before opening to the public. The earliest date that the Par 3 may reopen is expected now to be late Summer 2018 but this will depend on weather and other factors. It is envisaged that the new pavilion will be built after the course re-opens.

About this golf course

Par 3 Golf Course (The jewel in the crown)

The Par 3 has been established for some 20 years and the course has matured into one of the finest in the county. The tees and greens are built to USGA specifications with full irrigation and drainage and is open all year round.

Surrounded by trees and shrubs yet only 30 yards from the beach, the course, with closely guarded bunkers, could be described as a links/parkland course and most definitely an ideal place to learn as either a junior or beginner/improver but also for the hardened handicapped golfer wishing to tune up their short game.

The Par 3 plays host to various junior and qualifying tournaments and holds the largest Par 3 amateur team tournament in the south. Various competitions are available throughout the year for anyone to enter (shoot outs/singles/pairs/night golf/one club challenge/ladies and teams).

Where else, without being a member, could you walk in and put your name down to enter any of the competitions? A complete list of dates for all competitions are posted in the clubhouse or you can telephone for details. If you haven't played the course - try it - you will return.

Pitch and putt - Fun for all with the Swing Easy ball

Coming in April a new concept in pitch and putt introducing a new lighter weight ball that plays like a traditional golf ball but restricts distance by approximately 35%, allowing more enjoyment on the shorter course.

The whole family can enjoy playing with the Swing Easy ball and the more serious golfer will also have fun with the lighter ball.

Due to the lighter weight these balls are far less likely to badly injure someone if hit by an errant shot, a serious consideration in these times of health & safety.

In the modern age of golf technology everything is geared up to hit the ball a country mile (clubs and balls).

Now with the lighter ball it offers a far more enjoyable experience for the short course, even to the extent that we will be arranging a competition on the longer course using only the Swing Easy ball.

Putting Green - A game within a game

There are two Council run putting greens in Worthing, Brooklands and Marine Gardens. Both are seasonal and are run from April through to the end of September.

Putting is a leisurely way, with gentle exercise, to enjoy some time in sunny Worthing on a hot summer's day!!

Everyone enjoys putting from the very young to the retired, and the serious golfer knows that putting is a very important part of the game of golf.

Both venues offer well maintained putting greens, and remember 'if you can putt you're a match for anyone'.
