New Homes in Lancing Given Green Light
Released: Tuesday, 14 May 2019
An unsightly burnt out property in a prominent location in Lancing will be demolished to make way for three brand new homes.
Adur District Council’s Planning Committee gave the go ahead yesterday evening to a development for a plot on the corner of the A27 roundabout in Lancing.
The property, which had been severely damaged by fire, will be replaced with two brand new four bedroom homes, and a five bedroom home. Developers will also restore the property at number five Old Shoreham Road.
Councillors approved the plans on the condition that work on drainage, flood prevention and access to the site is completed to specific standards.
Cllr Carol Albury, Chairman of Adur District Council's Planning Committee, said:
“This house not only stands on one of the gateways to Lancing, but also on one of the busiest roundabouts, passed by hundreds and hundreds every day and so the Committee were pleased to have an answer to this application, and I look forward with so many people to seeing a new build, which will greatly enhance the area and will no longer be an eyesore to so many residents and commuters using this busy stretch.”
