Free energy advice available for local residents on a low income
Released: Thursday, 03 January 2019
With the forecast for colder weather in the coming days, have you checked whether you might be eligible for free advice on getting the lowest tariff on your energy bills?
And if you don't have gas central heating you might also be eligible for fully-funded first time gas central heating.
LEAP, (Local Energy Advice Partnership), is offering local residents a completely free service for advice on their energy bills.
If you're eligible, you will get a free visit from a friendly qualified Home Energy Advisor.
LEAP will help check that you are on the cheapest energy tariffs and install free simple energy saving measures. They also have a free telephone advice service and other services on offer.
You may be eligible for the LEAP service if one of the following apply:
- You have a low income
- You receive tax credits
- You receive Housing Benefit
- You receive an income or disability related benefit
- You have a long term illness or disability
And if you don't have gas central heating, eligible households who receive a LEAP visit might also be eligible for fully-funded first time gas central heating from Agility ECO.
This will include:
- New gas connections (if within 23m of a gas main)
- New boiler, radiators and plumbing
The household can have existing storage heaters or already have a gas connection - e.g. gas fires in rooms. They are also able to replace broken warm air heating systems with a wet system.
Call LEAP now on 0800 060 7567 to book your free home visit or apply online on the LEAP website.
