New £20,000 outdoor gym installed in Worthing
Released: Wednesday, 13 December 2017
Worthing residents will have the chance to get fit while embracing the fresh air thanks to new £20,000 outdoor gym equipment.
Worthing Borough Council has installed the equipment at The Gallops open space in Findon Valley after listening to local residents who wanted somewhere accessible and low-cost in which to stay fit and healthy.
Working with local resident Jeff Swann and the Findon Valley Residents' Association, the local authority secured funding from Section 106 developer contributions to pay for the work.
The equipment was officially opened this week, with local residents joining Worthing Borough Council leader Dan Humphreys and Councillor Diane Guest to give the kit a try.
Cllr Guest, the council's Executive Member for Environment, said:
“I am so pleased that we have been able to install another gym in one of our parks that will help get people out exercising in the fresh air.”
