Have your say on West Park playground in Worthing

Released: Wednesday, 21 June 2017

Residents are invited to have their say on a planned £75,000 upgrade to a playground in Worthing.

A public consultation will take place between 2:30pm and 5pm on Friday 23rd June 2017 at West Park in Shaftesbury Avenue, Worthing.

Worthing Borough Council wants the views of the local community on how the park's playground should shape up, including:

The Council will use the wish list to create a project brief to inform detailed designs. These will then be taken back to residents to choose the winning scheme.

Councillor Diane Guest, Worthing's Executive Member for Environment, said:

“The playground is used by the local community and it is right that local people should have their say on its future.”

“We are committed to carrying out improvements that parents want and which their children will be able to enjoy for years to come, and I'm looking forward to seeing their suggestions come to fruition.”

The Council's Parks Environment Support Team, helped by community interest group Creative Waves, will be on hand at the playground to talk to residents. Creative Waves will also work with Elm Grove and West Park primary schools to gather the children's ideas.

Construction work will take place this winter.

Come along between 2:30pm and 5pm on Friday 23rd June to West Park in Shaftesbury Avenue, Worthing to have your say ...
