DRAFT Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan Consultation (LCWIP)
We would like your thoughts on our proposed vision and principles for a strategic cycling and walking network in Adur District and Worthing Borough.
About the proposals:
Adur & Worthing Councils, with key partners, have been preparing this Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) for the last 12 months. The Councils have committed to producing this plan against the backdrop of declaring a climate emergency as well as encouragement from the Department for Transport (DfT).
After extensive work behind the scenes from the Adur & Worthing Cycling and Walking Working Group, the proposals for primary cycling routes, secondary cycling routes and core walking zones have been created for this public consultation (definitions of primary and secondary routes and walking zones can be found in Section 6 in the draft document).
For the first time, the proposals offer a strategic overview of the key routes across our places and will define where interventions and future investment is required to create safe and accessible infrastructure.
This consultation focuses on the creation of the strategic network. As parts of the network come forward detailed design, considerations and consultation will take place for those elements.
We recommend you use the maps (see below) to guide your feedback response. The map does provide numbers on the cycling routes; if you do have a comment about a specific area on the network we would encourage you to note the route number on your feedback
