Lateral flow testing - At home

Symptom-free Covid-19 test kits that can be used at home are now available to order.

Home testing is being made available to everyone in England as part of a Government drive to encourage everyone who does not have coronavirus symptoms to get tested twice a week:

It's one of a number of means of accessing rapid asymptomatic testing now available.

Order kits to your home:

People can order kits to be delivered direct to their home via the GOV.UK website or by calling 119.

Collect kits to test at home:

Collection points are available at community sites and rapid test sites across the country.

People can use the site finders to locate a collection point close to them to pick up kits to test at home. They are updated as new collection points come on board.

Book an Assisted Test:

Assisted symptom-free tests are available at participating pharmacies and test centres across Sussex via the Community Testing programme.

If people don't feel confident taking the test themselves at home, or taking a test for the first time, an assisted test is recommended as staff are on hand to answer any questions.

The programme is run in partnership between West Sussex County Council, East Sussex County Council, and Brighton & Hove City Council:

People can use the NHS website site finder to locate a nearby testing site or participating pharmacy.

If you don't have symptoms: Community testing (asymptomatic testing)

COVID-19 testing for adults without symptoms is now available in our area for those who need to leave home for work or caring responsibilities.

The rapid lateral flow tests are being delivered through a Community Testing Programme run by West Sussex County Council (WSCC), East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council.

Anyone who lives or works in Sussex who must leave home and does not have access to a symptom-free test through other routes can book a test. This may include those that cannot work from home or those that need to leave home to volunteer or provide care to others.

To book a test:

Alongside vaccinations, symptom-free testing is an important addition to the fight against the pandemic, protecting friends, family and colleagues, and helping us return to life as close to normal as possible.

1 in 3 people with COVID-19 has no symptoms and so could be spreading it without knowing. So it's worth getting a test even if you feel fine.
