Coronavirus (COVID-19): Testing
If you have symptoms
Anyone over the age of 5 years with symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) can get a test. These are:
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste
To book a test:
- Get a free test to check if you have coronavirus - on the GOV.UK website
- or you can call 119
If you don't have symptoms: Community testing (asymptomatic testing)
COVID-19 testing for adults without symptoms is now available in our area for those who need to leave home for work or caring responsibilities.
The rapid lateral flow tests are being delivered through a Community Testing Programme run by West Sussex County Council (WSCC), East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council.
Anyone who lives or works in Sussex who must leave home and does not have access to a symptom-free test through other routes can book a test. This may include those that cannot work from home or those that need to leave home to volunteer or provide care to others.
To book a test:
- Book an asymptomatic test - on the WSCC website
- or you can call 01243 642130
Alongside vaccinations, symptom-free testing is an important addition to the fight against the pandemic, protecting friends, family and colleagues, and helping us return to life as close to normal as possible.
1 in 3 people with COVID-19 has no symptoms and so could be spreading it without knowing. So it's worth getting a test even if you feel fine.
