Adur telephone box closure consultation

As part of a formal consultation process, BT have advised that the telephone boxes on the attached list are proposed for removal.

The Council has until Monday 13th November 2023 to respond and therefore should you have any comments regarding the proposed closures, please send them directly to planning@adur-worthing.gov.uk no later than 2pm on Thursday 9th November 2023 with 'Proposed telephone box closures' in the subject title.

Adur telephone boxes proposed for removal:

  • 01273 430007 - outside Fishersgate Park, West Road, Fishersgate, BN41 1QH
  • 01273 452455 - outside 21 Ferry Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, BN43 5RA
  • 01273 870015 - outside Watling Court, Station Road, Southwick, BN42 4AE
  • 01903 752857 - South Street, Lancing, BN15 8AU

With payphone usage falling, communities are looking at new ways of using them. Thousands of boxes have been reinvented as cafes, mini-libraries, and defibrillator sites.
