How to pay Business Rates

Payment of Business Rate instalments must be received by the Council by the date shown on the bill. Your bill shows you how much and when to pay.

Payments can be made by:

Credit or debit card

You can pay your Business Rates online. We accept the following cards:

Cards accepted - Maestro, Mastercard, Visa Electron, Visa Debit, Visa and American Express

Credit or debit card payments may be made in the ways shown below:

Online

By Telephone

You can pay your Business Rates using your phone. We accept the following cards (not American Express):

Cards accepted - Maestro, Mastercard, Visa Electron, Visa Debit and Visa (not American Express)

You can pay Business Rates by telephoning our payment line on 0300 123 6002. Calls are charged at local rates. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please be ready to quote your card details and the Business Rates account number.

PayPoint

Your Business Rates bill incorporates a bar code which, when presented with your payment at any PayPoint outlet or Post Office, will identify the relevant Business Rates account number. There is no charge for this facility.

  • PayPoint is a convenient and easy way to pay
  • Payment in cash can be made at any PayPoint or Pay Zone outlet
  • Some outlets may accept debit cards but there may be a charge
  • Payment in cash, cheque or debit card can be made at a Post office

Please take your bill with you and retain the receipt issued at the PayPoint outlet or Post Office. A list of your nearest PayPoint outlets can be found on PayPoint's Locator website.
