Deprivation data

The most recent Indices of Deprivation (2010) are contained in a summary report. It is written in an easy to understand form but read the first section of the report 'Understanding this Report' before you look at the figures. It provides data first on a local authority level and then on a ward level and then down to a Lower Super Output Area level (1,000 to 1,500 population) as the report goes on. It also has some data in the back on additional Income deprivation figures.

Work, skills, employment and benefits data

The best place to find the most up to date and easy to understand figures is the NOMIS website (the Official Labour Market website). It is an off shoot of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) website. Although the main ONS website can be difficult to use the NOMIS website is easier.

Once you have clicked on the link below choose whether you want 'local authority' or 'ward level' data. You can also enter postcodes of any road in the ward that you need and data for that ward will appear. Data does not go down to Lower Super Output Area on this site though.
